The atmosphere at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja, was nothing short of electric as we gathered for a dual celebration of legacy and future-building: the 80th Birthday Banquet of His Eminence, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, and the official Launch of the Veritas University Endowment Fund (VUEF).
It was an evening where faith, intellect, and generosity converged, marking a pivotal milestone in our journey toward “Funding the Future.”
A Tribute to a Legend
The evening began with a heartfelt celebration of His Eminence, John Cardinal Onaiyekan. As a pillar of wisdom and a founding visionary for Veritas University, his 80th year serves as a testament to a life dedicated to service and education. The hall was filled with warmth as guests shared stories of his impact on the nation and the church.
A Historic Launch for Veritas University
The core of the evening focused on sustainability and academic excellence. The formal launch of the Veritas University Endowment Fund was met with overwhelming enthusiasm. Under the distinguished chairmanship of Chief Engr. Sir Josephat Kanayo Okoye, the foundation for a permanent financial bedrock for the university was solidified.
